Week 1

Welcome to physical science.  You should start looking at the chapter one material with some thought. I will be posting lecture notes sometime after lectures.

Things to do.  Get familiar with the mastering astronomy site--register.  Complete

ASSIGNMENT 1--Mastering Astronomy--WHICH IS A LEARNING TOOL--NOT GRADED.  (Due by JAN. 12--BEFORE MIDNIGHT)   

Assignment 2 is posted (MASTERING ASTRONOMY), it is due by midnight end of day on JAN 15.  These will generally be kept fairly easy, but you must do the work.   You should also browse through the other resources on the site--self tutorial, chapter summaries, etc--for your use/learning.

In class we will have some worksheet materials--both my own and also some from the Lecture Tutorials workbook. 

Sometimes worksheets will be completed during class or lab, sometimes I'll allow for them to be taken home.
