Week 7

Mastering Astronomy assignment 6 is due next Monday--Tuesday Feb 26

Also due on next Tuesday (Feb. 26)    ---Lecture Tutorials starting on page 57, Blackbody Radiation, and also starting on page 61 Types of Spectra.  For each you must complete the full worksheet assignment.

More test comments.

Be able to calculate Keplers Constant as discussed in class.  Try for a planet orbiting a start at a distance of 4.00AU and taking 5.00Years.

ON AN ELLIPSE    Be able to place both foci, the axes, label perihelion, and aphelion, semi -major and semi minor axes.

Given a 100.0 Kg student on a scale in an elevator, use Newton's second law (you must start with that---very little partial credit unless you start there) to determine the reading on the scale when the elevator accelerates up at 7.0m/s2 .  Include units appropriate as discussed!

An object is at 20Co  , quadruple the absolute temp.  What is the new temp in Co .

A 2.00 kg object has 20.0J of kinetic energy.  What is the speed of the object?

Momentum of an object with 5.00kg moving 25.0m/s.

Those should be some good practice problems.  Also look at last weeks comments.
