Week 4

HW  4---first assignment from ch. 2

 ch. 2 problems , 2,6,9, 14 (do inside and outside, give results using vector notation), 21, 25,46.

I got these posted late, how about due next Wed.---and perhaps delay test a week???

Make sure you use methods indicated for solving each problem.  If a method is developed in a particular section (or past section) use it.  Do not use methods of solution that we have not discussed yet. 

Exam coming up.    There will be both an in class part and also a take home part.  The in class portion is not open note or book, you should expect to know how to take things like div, grad, curl, and to use the relevant theorems, for at least quick and easy functions (cartesian coords, at least first term in other coords).  Also delta functions, and we will be into some ch. 2 material (coulomb's law)....know integral form.

For take home, I have not decided how long.  At least that weekend.  You will have access to books, notes, and me.  NOTHING ELSE.  Any indication of collaborations on take homes portions will result in F in the course (period), and officially reporting this on your transcripts!  IT IS VERY CLEAR WHEN COLLABORATIONS OCCUR.
