Include these and the remaining ch. 2 problems for hw due Monday Oct. 8th.
A) Find the Electric field everywhere for a system of charges that are two infinite uniformly charged plates. One plate lies in the xy plane and has a charge density s1. The other plate lies in the yz plane and has a charge density of s2 . The electric potential has a value of zero at the location (1,1,1). Determine the electric potential at all other locations in space (except on the plate). Give all answers using cartesian coordinates.
B) An infinitely long cylindrical rod (radius R) of charge with charge density r lies parallel to the x axis with its center passing through y=1, z=0. A second rod (same uniform charge density) lies parallel to the x axis but with center passing through the point y=-1, z=0. determine the electric field and potential everywhere outside each cylinder. The electric potential at the origin is zero. For points along the positive z axis, make a plot of E vs. z, and also V vs. z.
